My son and I have been working on the Hasegawa 1/32 scale Spitfire kit for the last week. It is to be used as a photoreference for Book 4. I think that it will remain white or light grey. We sort of went crazy with the decals, mixing and matching from the various options that come with the kit. It's a nice kit overall, despite some well known shortcomings in terms of faithfulness to the original.
