The notion of a religious revolt by mechanized mercenaries plays well on several levels. My initial thought is to consider Roy Batty and his arrival at a Christ-consciousness in Blade Runner. But his forgiveness and rescue of Deckard was much more Golgotha than Armageddon. Here the Janissary appear to be more on the verge of a holy revolt. Consequently, you've already accomplished more for the spirituality of machines in two comics and a teaser than The Matrix did with a veritable typhoon of multi-media cross referencing.
hi el oso, yes indeed when i saw the animatrix shorts i was a bit worried that i wasn't coming up with a very original idea. but that's true about alot of the matrix: the series itself cross references so much it is hard not to overlap. fortunately, reality provides the ultimate objective correlate.
